Humanitarian Groups Warn of Dire Consequences Following Attacks on Yemen’s Civilian Infrastructure

The warning comes in the aftermath of Israeli airstrikes on December 26, which struck critical facilities, including Sana’a International Airport, power stations in Sana’a and Hajjah, and seaports in Hodeidah.
In a joint statement, the organizations expressed deep concern over the attacks on key infrastructure, emphasizing the need to respect international humanitarian law and ensure the protection of civilian facilities essential for the survival of millions.

Hodeidah Seaports: These ports are pivotal for importing humanitarian aid, as 90% of Yemen's population relies on food imports. Recent flooding has further exacerbated the nation’s food security crisis.
The organizations called on all parties to uphold international humanitarian law, protect civilian infrastructure, and prioritize dialogue to prevent further escalation, which endangers civilian lives and deepens instability in the region.
