Local sources reported that 15 people died on Wednesday due to a car overturning accident in Hajjah Governorate, northwestern Yemen.

The sources mentioned that eight people were killed and seven others injured when a car overturned in the "Ain" area of Sharas District, Hajjah Governorate.

According to the sources, the car plunged from the top of the mountain to its base while returning from the district market.

This accident is attributed to the rugged roads, particularly in mountainous areas, and the lack of maintenance due to rain-induced flooding, which destroys many roads in rural and mountainous regions.

The Ministry of Interior had previously announced that 2,092 civilians were killed or injured in traffic accidents in the liberated areas during the past year, 2023.
